Original WOF theme heard
« on: June 03, 2004, 03:02:16 PM »
I was in Kansas City last Saturday, and while listening to the Royals postgame show, an ad came on--I think for a car dealership.  The background music sounded much like the original WOF theme.  Can anybody in KC confirm this?

Some years ago (even before it was released on cd) that theme was used on a local radio commercial in my area so I wonder if that was included in a production music library for radio station use?
Let's Make a Deal was the first show to air on Buzzr. 6/1/15 8PM.

610 WTVN in Columbus, Ohio, where morning man Bob Conners still rules the ratings roost after decades on the air, used it as contest background music during the mid 1980s so it very well could be production library material.

Either that, or Alan Thicke may have released it somewhere and we don't know?
There are three things I've learned never to discuss with people: Religion, politics, and the proper wrapping of microphone cables.

It was on an Alan Thicke album released in the 70's along with his other creations from the mid 70's. Jokers Jive was among them which was the theme from the CBS version of The Joker's Wild. I think the record was just one of those promotional niche albums but it does indeed exist.

...as did 740 KRMG in Tulsa, OK, and 97.9 KZBB in Fort Smith, AR (the latter for a daily game called "Wheel of Meat"!).

"Wheel of Meat", you say?  106.5 FM in Cleveland (then-WLTF, now gosh knows what since the call letters have changed at least twice in the past decade) had a daily morning show game called "Wheel of Meat" in the late 80s.  I don't recall WLTF using any WoF themes, just generic game showy music with an equally generic cheesy announcer.  Funny stuff.

Now I'm in the mood for an Omaha steak. :-P

 The answer is:
WMVX (Mix 106.5), the best mix of the 90s, today and 80s--in word order, that's their exact station slogan. They are owned by good ole CC.
